Stevie Jones and Kenton Alston making some NATIONWIDE NOISE.....

I told you guys before and I'll say it again....  Keep your eyes on those Penn State Harrisburg mens basketball players....  They are bringing a lot of attention to this area on the Division 3 level and it's happening rapidly......

Harrisburg High product Stevie Jones has taken over the #1 spot in steals not just in his conference, but IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY!!!!!  Regardless of division....  Stevie is averaging 4.4 steals per game and if you watched him play, you would see how "Stevie Buckets" get his steals.....  Non stop hustle until his team has the ball.....

Steel Hi product Kenton Alston is also making a name for himself in the block category as he is ranked 5th in the country in blocks with a little over 3 per game....   The most encouraging thing about this is he is only 6'3 .....

Great job to both of the local products as they continue to take PSU - HBG to the top....

Keep your eyes open for an article on Coach Gaffey in the near future!!!

  1. Ha, I remembr both those guys from back in the day and up in Penbrook Stevie use to ball all day! I took your advice and went last night to see them all. They won 93-47. They are really really good and only have local guys but 1 on the roster. Is anyone going there next year that is a senior? They beat all the local college teams to I had seen on the website. They need to get some more guys from the Burg!

  3. I have not seen this team but I am going on Saturday since some kids on our high school and AAU team are being recruited by them. You can't win in division 3 with only getting kids from Harrisburg; you need to get the best kids you can from anywhere you can get them from. Although when building a program, it does make sense to build it from with in (meaning getting guys from this area)so you gain support from the community. I think they have done this. Plus their coaching staff, I know all but 1, are extreme class acts. At the very least it beats driving to Lancaster, Annville or Carlisle to watch college hoops.

  4. To the last post, you are right, you can not win with only Harrisburg players but you can win with recruiting only District 3 players. If you brought in 3-5 each year you can ablsolutely carry a program. Look at the recent talent level of district 3 players who played in college. Our city and the Mid Penn has such great hsitory with the game of basketball and its nice that we have a college team now and not your dad or grandpops LVC, Etown, Messiah. This team is refreshing.
