Great game in the Steelton Pony league...

The gym was jammed packed as the two top teams in the Steelton Pony league got ready to square off....  If this was a game where the tickets were $10 a piece to watch, every person would have been satisfied spending their cash....


In a game where it started out going back and forth Naples had a slight early edge behind the sharp shooting of Jordan McCraw and Keon Bullock....  Jordan was hitting shots from all over the court and it was obvious that he did not want to let his team down tonight....  Bullock was his usual self, hawking the ball and attacking the basket with a brand new "Euro Step" he's added into his bag of tricks....

Pontes kept the game live behind the play of their "TWIN TOWERS" Tyreese Smith and John Pogasic....   Tyreese has the potential to be a 6'7 combo guard by time he's done growing and Pogasic is just an incredible athlete for one so young....  Pontes did a good job getting them the ball behind the smart play of Donovan "Mighty Mouse" Medinaas he sliced and diced his way into the paint and fed his biggs....  

Naples had a 10 point lead heading into the 4th quarter but a couple of layups by Pogasic, two free throws by Medina and a strong drive by Smith put Pontes down two points 36 - 34....   Next possession, Smith makes a strong move to the left, draws the foul, and makes the basket plus the free throw to give Pontes a 1 point lead....  37 - 36....   It looked like Pontes had control but a quick turnover led to a jumper by McCraw followed by another steal by Bullock and a lay up gave Naples a 40 - 37 lead and that was all it took....

McCraw led all scorers with 20 points while Bullock chipped in 8 points and 8 steals for Naples.....  Tyreese Smith led Pontes with 15 pts and 13 rebs, Pogasic had 10 pts and Medina ran the show with 6 pts and 4 steals......

Great game for both teams and we can't wait to see the next one.....
