McDevitt is on a roll.......

With all the talk about the big time scorers, undefeated teams, injured players, there's a team that started off very slow but seems to be picking up the pace....
After winning only 1 of their first 6 games, Bishop McDevitt boys basketball team has turned it around and won 5 out of their last 6 games with a sweet and much needed win over conference rival Chambersburg 48 - 45 at Chambersburg....

Prolific scorer Aaron Devan led the way with 16 points but it's the fact that he's is learning to "spread the wealth" that is really helping the Crusaders get these victories....

They have a veteran pg in Jaquan "Hungry" Johnson who does the best job I've seen in keeping his team under control.  He is a hawk on the ball as a defender and he finds the open guys...  Great team mate...

Sr do it all forward DJ Polacheck is all over the court making big plays on offense and defense...

The biggest surprise may have been the contribution coming from 5'8 soph combo guard Donte' Vaughn who was on the freshman team at CD East last year but worked extremely hard over the summer and became a starter for McDevitt and is also a 3 point killer this season knocking down 18 of them already and averaging 6.3 ppg...

With forwards Milik Gantz, Jordan Brooks and Dylan Hudson-Emory working hard in the paint, McDevitt feels like they can compete with any Mid Penn team now....

Congrats and keep it up fellas.....

  1. Aaron DeVan has not yet had a really break-out game; 0 for 11. The teams know how good a shooter he is and are doing a great job denying him the ball; he is still learning how to get open.(that really i his biggest weakness; he can be denyed).

  2. I agree with the above post. He has issues getting open. But, to be honest, he has had a few great games. I'd love to see him take control of a game and drop 40. I think he needs to (when being denied) get the ball handed to him at the top of the key, and run an isolation play. Last year he topped 80% from inside the arc...
