Mack plays big but comes up short....

In the first of two meetings between Emmanuel Baptist and Northumberland, both teams didn't know what to expect.....  EBCA had a bunch of little guys who looked quick and Northumberland had countless size and looked very intimidating....   and intimidating they were.....
With EBCA trailing 19 - 5 after the first quarter and 34 - 15 by halftime, some major adjustments had to be made...  Because Northumberland had the size advantage with 6'7 Adam York, 6'5 John Hummel and 6'4 Daniel Severn, they pounded the ball inside for much of the first half....

When the 3rd quarter began, EBCA switch from a 2-3 zone and matched up full court man, that's when the game began to change.....   With the trio of Nehemiah Mack, Tim Kile and Ty Little, EBCA forced Northumberland into 23 2nd half turnovers bringing what was once a 20 point lead, down to 4 pts with 2 minutes to go.....  5'9 freshman Jansen Morrison was forced to battle all night with the bigger York and Morrison did just as well as you could expect anyone his size to do....

Northumberland eventually pulled out a 57 - 46 win as EBCA ran out of gas...  Mack led all scorers with 21 pts and 3 steals as he sliced and diced his way to the basket...  He was unstoppable scoring 15 of his 21 in the 2nd half.....  Kile chipped in with 11 pts, 6 rebs and 6 steals, Colin Reeves had 7pts, 5 rebs and 4 assist while Ty Little came off the bench with 4 pts and 4 steals while Morrison's stats may not have been the best, but his defensive effort was huge....   Northumberland was led by Severn with 20pts, Hummel with 13pts and York with 11pts....

Good game guys and keep it going.....
