CPABBALL Individual awards coming soon....

Centralpabasketball staff has decided to create individual awards for the high school players and even for the middle school players as well....   Here's a list of some of the awards that will be given out once the regular season is over....

Best Defender - This is the person who showed outstanding effort on the defensive end of the court and made the big defensive plays when needed....

Best Play Maker -   This is the person who did a great job getting others involved in the game....  He may have been able to score more points but chose to create for others...

Top Rebounder -   This is for the person who controlled the boards on a consistent basis for their team...

Mr. Hustle -  This is for the person who got those 50/50 balls, got back on defense, or even the guy who is willing to dive out of bounds and on the ground for loose balls....

Most Promising Prospect - This goes to a player who is a soph or under who seems to have the best chance of being a college recruit in the near future......

Top 6th man - This is a guy who could be a starter but is willing to play the role of coming off the bench.  This person plays a major role in the success of his team and could also be a JV player...

Most Improved Player - This goes to the guy who showed the most improvement from either last year to this year or from the beginning of the season, to the end of the season...

Most Outstanding Player - This goes to the person who has the best regular season and their team had a successful regular season....  If the team doesn't make the playoffs, the kid isn't eligible for the award...  This person comes up big in big games as well....

Playoff M.O.P. - Best player in the playoffs....   Period!!!

Centralpabasketball Super 16 - This will be a collection of the top 16 players in the area voted on by our staff....   Not always the highest scorer because each team will use players differently....

  1. What a joke ....ranking youth is dangerous and self promotion of ones own children is too dangerous...

    1. Whether we like it or not, the ranking of youth is done all over the country. If the coach or staff posted anything negative about one's child, I'll be the first to abandon ship as a fan, however I have yet to read of such and unfortunately I don't share your opinion. What I read is only positive and brings exposure to kids whom otherwise may unfortunately never know what it feels like to be recognized at all. To me, the thought of that could be far more damaging than wherever my child or any other child may fair amongst his or her peers. Seeing my child ranked 100 out of 100 is by no stretch of my imagination demoralizing or make her want to quit. Just the opposite, it totally motivates her to work even harder, yet still being thankful to be recognized at all. Coaches tell their players, "play your hardest win or lose because you never know if a college coach is watching and they may want to offer you a scholarship". In this case, you never know if one is READING. To coach Little and staff; Please don't be discouraged and keep up the good work for the sake of these kids potentially getting recognized and gaining scholarships weather Division 1,2, or 3 in hopes of bettering themselves and fulfilling their dreams.............

    2. Couldn't have said it better myself.... This is fun and more people enjoy reading it than those who don't.... The beautiful thing is God gave us the ability to make choices in life.... If this is something you don't enjoy, just don't read it... It's that simple!!! This is a positive blog for our community so go on another website if you have negative things to say.... Not really sure why wrote this much, I have to get back to a few College coaches that emailed me about players on this blog.... Take care!

  3. There's a variety of people but I make the final decision.... If you have someone in mind, email me at coachlittle22@gmail.com .... I'd love to come and watch the kid.... Anything I can do to help a kid, I'll try to do it.... Please, try not to get caught up in rankings, not that serious.....
