Harrisburg kids went hard at Hoop Group Jr. Elite camp.....

Say what you want about this small area, but it produces some quality kids and quality athletes... This was a new experience for most of the kids as this camp was a sleepover camp in the woods.....  We went to Hoop Group Jr. Elite in Stroudsburg, PA which is the Poconos....  With over 100 kids from up and down the East Coast, this was a great opportunity for our kids to see just how good they rally were and how much harder they had to work in order to reach their goals.....

Milik Gantz headed to San Diego for National Adidas Phenom Camp

Centralpabball.com wants to give Bishop McDevitt and South Central Select player Milik Gantz a shout out for being one of the few student athletes in the central PA area to not only receive an invite to the Adidas Phenom Camp in San Diego but he's actually going to attend the camp to compete against some of the top talent across the country......

SO SO Close for South Central Select.....

The lone team playing this weekend was the 16U boys, participating in the widely-popular Rumble in Philly.  After two consecutive runner-up finishes at their past two tournaments, the boys were looking to collar their 3rd championship for the season.......

AAU vs High School (What's the Real Deal?)


Every year, the debate rages between high school coaches and AAU coaches. The problem, of course, is that there is no such thing as The High School Coach or The AAU Coach. There is very little consistency between one high school coach and another, just as there is little consistency between one AAU coach and another. Coaches, by and large, are individuals. Some are good at what they do, and some are not....

PA Pump n Run 15U making strides....

PA Pump n Run 15U team may not have won every championship, but they've come extremely close in every tournament they've played in....  They won the Gold in 2 Big Shot events and a Gold in the Keystone Blazers tourney...  They also earned a Silver in 2 other tourneys against some pretty solid teams.....

South Central Select getting better with time....

This weekend, the 17U girls and 15U girls took their talents to Kean University in New Jersey for the Coaches Choice Tournament. Playing against teams from all over, both teams stood out all weekend long, evidenced through their performance on the court.......

Central PA aau teams making names for themselves...

Another busy weekend for local aau teams as games were being played all over the State....   Advance Hoops had teams all over the place....  PA Pump n Run 15, 16 and 17's played in the Big Shots Hershey tournament....  Central Penn Ballers, Team Supernatural, CCC and Capital Elite played in "The Show Part II" while South Central Select had games in a variety of tournaments (Check out the blog on those guys for more details).......

South Central Select has their heads held HIGH!!!!!

There were five SCS teams in action this weekend, and all can walk away from their tournament with heads held high.  On the boys' side, the 13U and 14U teams were at the CATS Challenge.  The 11U/12U boys were in Red Lion at an AFBE Tournament, and the 16U boys were in Philadelphia at the Philly Triple Threat Summer Tipoff.  The lone girls' team was Coach Royer and his 13U girls, who were at DeSales University for the Mid-Atlantic Elite Classic.....
