Looks like the Commonwealth Division has taken over as the top division this year afterall.... Lots of talk about Hershey and Cedar Cliff this year, and they deserved it, they just couldn't get the wins when it really counted....
As I predicted, Hershey lost to Chambersburg at home and it caught many people by surprise... I said playoff basketball is about who's playing well at the end of the season..... Hershey most certainly wasn't playing well but Chambersburg was.... The Trojans won 8 of their last 9 games headed into this game while Hershey was on a slide losing to State College and then in the Mid Penn tourney to Grenncastle..... The combination of AJ Maun and Kellen Williams combined for 37 points while knocking down 6 threes between the two of them....
Harrisburg just demolished Reading... I thought it would be a much better game than that but I credit Harrisburg for being ultra prepared and ready to play... Haiisheen McIntyre led the way with a modest 28 points and made a statement by getting a HUGE DUNK on a Reading defender... Harrisburg also got some great minutes from jr pg Jamaal Carter who did a very good job helping to run the show....
I love his approach to the playoff game because when you're the best player on a team, you need to carry a certain swagger and let it be known by the way you perform on the court... He's going to step his game up a notch I believe as the next match up is against the Mid Penn Champs Central Dauphin....
CD beat Central York by almost 30 points (64 - 38)as it was all about Devin Thomas for offense but the TEAM for defense ..... He had a monster game with 31 points and 13 boards but CD played a great defensive second quarter outscoring CY 18 - 3 and never looking back from there....
For those of you who haven't seen Thomas play yet and are trying to figure out just how good he is, TRUST ME when I tell you, he's everything you've heard plus more.... I said this before and I'll say it again.... Wake Forest stole one!!!!

ReplyDeleteThe Commonwealth... has to be THE top division in the District hands down. 4 of the 8 remaining AAAA playoff teams (Harrisburg, East, Chambersburg and CD) as well as McDevitt in AAA.

It's so sickening to listen to haters talk about attitude and not playing against strong competition...this kid worked hard and if you knew Him heis probably one of the most humble person I know !.. But because he plays with passion and he's black all he gets from want to be he's not a good kid ,he's not a good student ,etc,etc..you don't get the offers this kid got from being a bad person,,,plus his parents wouldn't allow it...so again for all you haters get a life...can't tell you How proud I'm of this kid I've watched him since 3rd grade and I hope my on grows up to be a great person like devin...
