Can McDevitt pull off the upset today????

This is it folks, this is the one....   If you're a McDevitt fan, you want to pack the house tonight as The Crusaders are about to play possibly the BIGGEST game of their entire season....
McDevitt takes on the top seed in AAA Lampeter-Strasburg at the Giant Center at 8pm and it's going to be rocking....   A school that is known more for it's football success is beginning to make a name on the hard floor as well.....

This is the type of team you can't measure from looking at the box scores because you would miss too many of the "little things" that so many players do during the game.....

It doesn't show Jaquan Johnson not letting the other teams pg get into their offense, or DJ Polacheck diving into his bench to save a possession, or Kyle Green being energetic and defending all over the court drawing charges and getting steals.....

These are just a few of the small things this team has done to get to this point thus far....

Tonight's game, all of those "little things" will be needed as LS (21 - 3) isn't accustomed to losing....  Aaron Devan will have to be on tonight...  Doesn't mean he has to try and do it by himself, but he can't have an off night....  A 20 point night is good for him, but he'll need at least 10 points from the line....  That shows he's being aggressive.....   Johnson just has to be his usual self, run the team and shut down the pg....  The X factors for tonight will be the play of sr swingman Jordan Brooks, Soph rising star Dyllon Hudson-Emory  and Freshman do it all player Milik Gantz....   These three guys will have to provide toughness, Rebounding, energy, but also play under control.....  Gantz has the ability to rebound and start the break himself...  He also can make the right play with the ball in his hands....   If he can help keep the defense on their heels from his attack game, MCD will be tough to handle in transition......    For LS, Jake Sweger can be a problem inside while Josh Miller, Jordan Groff and John Achille can hurt you from outside/inside.....

If McD can keep this game close with 3 mins left in the 4th quarter, I smell an upset.....   If LS has a 8 - 10 point lead headed into the 4th, they'll just milk the clock and go for the safe win.....  I say LS wins by 10 points but McD gives it their all.......

Your thoughts????

  1. You still haven't paid me since the last time u bet against McD; but I 'll give u a chance to get back what u still owe me. I'll take McD by 6.
LS hasn't seen a defense like McD. U are right about DJ and Quan being the differnce makers, but they don't need Aaron to be on fire (although it would make it a lot easier). EVERYBODY WILL SCORE ON THEIR TRANSITION GAME. Dyllon and Milik are playing like veterans.

  2. Dyllon was so huge on Tuesday night. If he starts making jumpers like he has been on a consistent basis, he's an awful tough cover. Love 'Lik's game too but someone tell young bull to smile one of these games. This is fun, young baller and you're playing so well.

    1. LS didn't make many mistakes tonight... McD did a great job pressuring the ball but would turn the ball over right after they get a steal... That hurts.... Johnson going down for the night hurt McD too... He and Green put tremendous pressure on the ball....

  4. LS IS A GOOD TEAM AND COACHED VERY WELL. 3 POINT SHOTS WILL KILL YOU IN A GAME. I do not think LS will beat Berks Catholic because
height will be the key. I could be wrong but they dismantled a good GreenCastle team by 30 or more. I thought that would be a 6 point game or less. Shooting will be a key for LS.
