Sleepers to watch this year........

As the basketball season kicks off in the next 3 days, we all know about the Devin Thomas's and the Aaron Devans, the Nol Aru's and the Sheen MacIntyres....  but there's other players around that can make a HUGE impact on a game that you may not here to much about...

Here's a few that come to mind.....

Jaquan Johnson (Bishop McDevitt 5'8 sr. pg) - This kid is going into his 4th year playing varsity basketball and experience means alot with this game.  Quan is willing to do whatever it takes to win a basketball game and every good team needs a guy like that.  Look for Quan to increase his scoring this year and he could turn out to be an All Mid Penn player once it's all said and done.

Reggie Dudley (CD East 6'1 sr. wing guard) -  Reggie can score the ball in bunches.  While the focus might be on Aris Scott, Reggie can easily put up 20 points on any given night.  Never will you catch him playing with the basketball, Reggie has one goal and that's to put the ball in the basket.

Dom Lewis (Harrisburg 6'6 jr. PF) - Dom was a raw athlete coming into high school but once Coach Don Ross got his hands on him, Dom is turning into a legit low post option.  He has the ability to change shots and with a year of football under his belt, expect him to be even tougher than ever.

Logan Stumpf (Cedar Cliff 6'6 sr. wing guard) - Logan has to be the best kept secret in the area.  No one knew who he was until he signed a letter of intent to play at Gardner Webb next Fall.  Logan is a freak athlete but can shoot the ball lights out.  Expect a big year for Logan as Cedar Cliff challenges every team for a District or State title.

Jahaad Proctor (Susquehanna 5'10 fr. combo guard) - With a loaded roster like the one Susquehanna has, any night can be a different guys night.  Jahaad is the type of player who can fill it up quickly and accurately.  He has a quick release on his jumper, can shoot free throws extremely well and makes "the right" play on the court.  Although he can shoot the ball, don't make the mistake and think he can't play basketball too.

Donte Vaughn (Bishop McDevitt 5'9 soph combo guard) - It's tough to find too many smarter players on the floor than this kid.  He never tries to do anything he can't do.  He should flourish in the McDevitt system due to all the picks and screens being set for their shooters.  Donte is not the kid you want to leave open....  He will make you pay for it...

Zayd Issah (CD 6'4 jr. Forward) - Zayd is a built like a bulldog and plays a very physical game.  Most teams forget he's out there because of the focus on Devin Thomas.  Zayd is capable of taking a lot of pressure off of Thomas because of his athleticism and knowledge of the game.

Ty Kater (Shippensburg 6'0 jr. forward) - He comes from a bloodline of stellar athletes and that he is.  Ty can run, jump and defens with the best of them.  He attacks the basket strong and has a number of moves to get into the paint.  If he decides to take basketball serious, he could be very dangerous.

With the season underway, let's see what the future unfolds......
