In a highly anticipated game between two local programs, we knew that it would be a great atmosphere for basketball. The gym was packed with fans, coaches, players, college players and even a couple of news camera personnel.
What was thought to be a great game, turned out to be extremely sloppy by both teams being careless with the basketball, missing lots of shots, and even layups.....
In all honesty, both teams have a long way to go in order to be considered a contender in their respected conferences.....
Susquehanna was led by Shaquan "Shoop" Shepard with 17 pts and 8 rebs while Jhonas Paige and Freshman Joe Marshall contributed 10 and 9 points respectively.
No one played particularly well for Steelton tonight but was led by JC Brandt with 12 points, while Jordan Millberry contributed with 2 pts, 6 assist and 3 steals...
Those who got to the game early had a chance to watch the JV game, which turned out to be very exciting. Susquehanna won the game 43 - 25 but played the game the right way. They did a great job moving the ball and Freshman Jahaad Proctor was on fire as usual knocking down 4 three pointers on his way to another 21 point game, 6 rebs and 3 assist. Point guard Dejour Williams did a great job attacking the defense and creating plays for others while Meek James came off the bench to hit 3 three pointers. Takhi Turner played a very solid all around game as well.
Steelton didn't play well but showed promise with 6'4 soph Jakai Haywood scoring in the paint. PG James "Munk" Warren showed some promise but needed to stay aggressive the entire game and lead his team....

I'm gonna have to say suquehannas junior varsity may go undefeated they have 4 guards & a big that can do it all dejour Williams can play the one well & is strong with the ball , Jahaad Proctor is also strong with the ball & can shoot greatly , Takhi Turner is a bully & gets to the rack at will , Rameik Chapman is becoming stronger with the ball & shoot the lights out any gym & Matt Dawson contributes greatly on boards & putbacks
ReplyDeleteI Agree These Are 5 Players Of A Local Unit Called "BMD"Brothers Making A Difference
ReplyDeleteHanna JV where more fun to watch than the varsity team to be honest. Jahaad Proctor hardly misses from the outside and the same for Chapman that game. Williams has the potential to be a very good pg once he understands how to drive and dish more. He can score but forces the issue sometimes. I like his game though and Turner is a strong guard with a high IQ. He can help the varsity once he believes he's a varsity player. Got a little nervous on one play vs Steelton and never saw the floor again.
ReplyDeleteI Understand Just Watch Out For The Shooters They Rarely Miss (Proctor & Chapman) & Yes Williams Will Have To Learn That If He Wants To Be More Affective With Luck He Has These Shooters &I Agree With You About Turner . These Jv Players Are Way More Interesting
ReplyDeleteThe young boys deserve better coaching at the varsity level. And will get it next year after we fire rogers
