Over the last 5 to 6 years, Central PA has been the market for Girls Basketball talent.  Having players such as Alyssa Thomas show that she can not only play with the best in the country, but be the best in the country....  Malia Tate Defrietes is at Hampton right now coming off of a Player of The Year award as a sophomore and is the Preseason Player of the Year in the MEAC this year.

The Centralpabball Preseason Showcase was a fun one to be a part of.  The talent in the gym was great being that it's November and players are gearing up for their seasons.  We had all sorts of players, young and old, but make no mistake, every game was competitive and fun to watch.  Players from all over came to represent Central PA as cities like Harrisburg, York, Lancaster and even Philly were in the house.....

If you are a player in the Central PA area still in search of an opportunity to play College Basketball, and you wasn't a part of this showcase, shame on you....    With over 15 to 20 different Colleges on deck, players from Central PA and even out as far as Allentown showed off their skills and abilities on Monday night.  Over 40 players suited up and while there were different levels of players in the gym, they all offered something different for coaches and fans to see....  We also had Big Star from Raw Sports in the house catching some nice footage of the event and yours truly was on the mic....  Here's a breakdown on the guys who were in attendance...

Back in 2010 - 2011 when Nehemiah "Bud" Mack was putting up 20pppg as an 8th grader playing Varsity Basketball for Emmanuel Baptist, lots of people were not believers....   I heard comments like "The competition is weak", "He can't dominate in the PIAA against REAL players"....   and so on, and so on....

Division 2, Division 3, and JUCO Coaches will be in attendance and games will be recorded and placed on YouTube for Division 1 Coaches to evaluate....

This was a great summer for a lot of the local athletes in Central PA...  I think it's safe to say that the 2016 to 2019 Classes might be the most talented combination of classes we have seen in a long time....  Not only do these guys have incredible talent, but they also have excellent academics....  That has been a rare combination recently....  With only 1 player from District 3 in the 2015 class attending a Division 1 school, that looks to increase dramatically over the next few years....  Here's a list of local players who have either received offers or have gotten interest from Division 1 schools....

Pizza Hut Atlantic showed great local talent...

Spooky Nook has been a location to hold numerous events weekend after weekend and this one was better than expected....  The Pizza Hut Mid Atlantic Classics usually host a few local teams under Advanced Hoops and plenty more from the Scranton area but this year there were teams included from South Jersey and Philly as well....

Team PA 15u and 16u boys perform well in Electric City Madness in Scranton...

With only a few games under their belt, Team PA 15u and 16u are looking to get into a rhythm quickly.... They were able to get some quality competition at The Electric City Madness tourney in Scranton, PA while competing against some really good programs from Northern PA, Philly and Upstate NY...

This weekend at Lebanon Valley College teams from up and down PA and also MD showed up for some great bball on Friday and Saturday....   There were some impressive teams on the boys and girls side of things in various age divisions.....

With the season finished and things have had a chance to die down, we wanted to 1st acknowledge all of the athletes who played their tails off and seen themselves get better as the year went on...   Hopefully each player enjoyed themselves this season...  If not, it's important to figure out why not....
