Coach David Archer pumps life back into HACC....

His Motto, "All we do is win" has been a part of him for the past 11 years.  For those who know 1st year HACC head Coach David Archer, they know that he ALWAYS has something to say about his teams and his journey.
Not many really understand the journey that Coach Archer has taken to get this far.  The best part about it is he's not close to being done.
11 years ago he started out as an 8th grade volunteer Coach at Harrisburg for Coach Kirk Smallwood.  He was a young guy itching to get into coaching and there were no more paid positions available.  He went on to help me out and coach the 2nd team, and went UNDEFEATED!  That summer came and he was introduced to Five Star Basketball Camp and he began to meet lots of important people in the basketball industry including Hall of Fame and Basketball icon Howard Garfinkle.  The next year, a good friend of his, Coach Dwan Lee, was hired as the new head Coach at Bishop McDevitt and Coach Archer was asked to coach the HS JR team.  He accepted the challenge and enjoyed the experience for a few years.  Since Coach Archer is a dreamer, he always had his eyes searching for more.  He ventured into the College scene and became an assistant Men's Basketball Coach at PSU-Harrisburg.  It gave him an idea of how the game looked through the eyes of a College coach.  In turn, it allowed him to help more players get into school.  With all the valuable information he gain through these experiences, he was ready to take on the challenge of being a head Coach.  Pinegrove was the next stop as he was hired to turn that program around.  All he did was win....   His 1st year, made it to the District championship game, but lost.  All that did was fuel him for the next year as he made it back to the championship game but walked away with The Gold this time while having 2 players named All State that year.

After one more year at Pinegrove, Coach Archer was on the verge of falling back from Coaching for a while because his involvement in his church was increasing.  That's when New Hope Academy Charter School approached him with an opportunity to bring something special there.  After heavy consideration, he decided to do it and never looked back.  New Hope had some success prior to Archer taking over, but just couldn't get the big win at Hershey.  All he did was win.....  New Hope being a small Single A school played in events such as The DMV Elite HS Showcase competing against top teams in DC, played Trinity twice, played 2 teams from Pittsburgh, and played 3 teams from the Philly area.  All that did was prepare the team for District playoffs as New Hope swept through Districts winning by an average of 21pts, including the Championship game by 19 points to give New Hope it's 1st and only District 3 championship.  Which also led to a Quarter Final State run making New Hope one of the top 8 teams in the State.

New Hope closed it's doors on the Charter but another opportunity opened for Coach Archer as Impact Academy was created.  Well, All he did was win....  He used the same formula for New Hope and took it to Impact and the results ended up being the same, a District 3 Gold Trophy.  For financial reasons, Impact had to close it's doors the following week after the championship game so they were not allowed to participate in the State tournament.

Just when Coach Archer thought it might be time to stop for a moment, an opportunity at HACC arrives and he couldn't have been any more ready.  After a mild recruiting summer for Coach Archer, he was able to load his roster with all freshmen and one sophomore, but got them to buy into his style of play.  So far, All he's doing is winning as HACC is 5-0 with wins over Stevens Tech, Williamson Trade, Montgomery County, Bucks County and Northampton.

Will they go undefeated this season? Who knows?  What I do know is they will compete at a high level and possibly turn heads on a National Scene.  With Coach Archer, anything is possible.  I know he's just enjoying the ride and expecting greatness because All he does is win!
