Girls Elite Showcase Recap for CentralPABball

CentralPABball Elite Girls Showcase
Over the last 5 to 6 years, Central PA has been the market for Girls Basketball talent.  Having players such as Alyssa Thomas show that she can not only play with the best in the country, but be the best in the country....  Malia Tate Defrietes is at Hampton right now coming off of a Player of The Year award as a sophomore and is the Preseason Player of the Year in the MEAC this year.
The talent in this gym ran deep as we may be looking at more girls who will make their mark on College Basketball in the years to come.  These girls went through a nice but complexed workout with Local area Trainer Jon Breeden of www.JonBreedenEnterprises.com .  They were able to work on ball handling, control and also did some one on one competing which was nice.  After that, they got into the games.  That's when it got REAL!!!!!

Trinity Sumrall 2018 5'4 Lead Guard (Hempfield)
Trinity really understands the game for one so young.  She showed a sweet pull up jumper game in transition and she's a tough defender as well.  Her head was always up as she looked for her players to cut to the basket.  Not too many girls her age has the drive and determination she has....  I believe her better years are on the way and she'll make a push for All State this year if she keeps it up.  Mid to High Major Talent if she stays on this pace....

Kayana Chisholm 2018 5'10 Forward (Steelton-Highspire HS)
Kayana plays with a lot of energy and is always moving without the ball....  She can finish around the basket and loves to use the glass....  Her defensive presence makes her a very intriguing prospect because she can defend guards and forwards really well.....  Expect a huge year from her at Steelton-Highspire this year....

Tiara Little 2018 5'7 Lead Guard (CD East HS)
Tiara is a coaches player because she can do it all from the point position or wherever she's placed.  Her court vision is on a higher level plus she can finish through traffic.  She hit about three 3 pointers on the day to show that she can knock down the open shots too....   Her intensity on defense was something special to watch as she can really lock down on the offense....  If she keeps improving at this pace, she'll be a Mid to High Major player when it's all said and done...

Olivia Macedo 2018 5'7 Guard (CD East HS)
Olivia has a scorers mentality when the ball is in her hands....  She knocked down some big shots for her team and crashed the glass very well for a guard....  As she gets more experience, she'll be a key player in this area.  Easy to tell that she loves the game....

Taiylor Bussey 2020 5'5 Guard (Woodhaven MS)
Taiylor ft in fine with the older girls.  No one knew that she was only in the 8th grade....  She is a strong Philly style guard who plays with a chip on her shoulder.  She had some nice strong drives to the basket and finished well....  Bright future for this youngster...

Nasheyla Greggs 2018 5'3 Guard (Penn Manor)
Greggs was a pest on the defensive end all morning.  She has nice handles and never tries to do anything she can't do.  Played within herself, hit a few shots but hustled like no other.  The youth at Penn Manor has that school headed in the right direction.

Anya Miller 2019 5'5 Wing (Linden Hall)
Anya was one of the youngest players there but never showed her age....  She really made her presence felt on the defensive end, rebounded the ball well and looked really good during drills.  For a player so young, she looked very comfortable playing with older girls.  That says a lot about her IQ as well.

Teirra Preston 2018 5'10 Wing (Central York)
Teirra is one of the most versatile players in the area.  Only a soph, she can rebound, start the break, and find open players.  She can shoot the jumper or take it to the basket at will....  Had a few nice block shots during the event that really showed her athleticism....   If she keeps it up, she looks like a Low to Mid Major player....  Maybe even Higher with more work...

Sunshine McCrae 2019 6'2 Forward (East Pennsboro)
If you love the game of basketball then you will love to watch her play.  She just imposed her will on whoever was defending her and she scored basket after basket after basket.  Rebounds like a beast and can now finish with ether hand.  Did I forget to mention that she's only a freshman standing at 6'2?  In a little while, schools will be all over this young lady...  Mid to High Major player if she continues to develop at this pace.  She just has to keep working hard on her game, body and IQ but remain humble....

Ariel Jones 2017 5'7 Lead Guard (Cedar Crest)
One of my favorite players to watch, this girl has speed for days...  Her change of direction is lethal and she explodes after she makes her moves....  She can defend really well and finish with either hand in transition.  It's going to be fun watching her play this season for The Falcons of Cedar Crest.  LM player if she keeps this up.

Zakiyah Winfield 2018 5'6 Guard (Wilson HS)
One of the meanest, nicest players you'll ever meet...  She plays with an "I don't care" attitude which allows her to always stay in attack mode.  Off the court, she'll be your bestie...  She is very crafty and changes directions under control but attacks holes to the basket like a running back in football.  She played injured, not hurt, but injured and still was a key player on the court.  LM to Mid Major if she keeps it up....

Lexi Pinnick 2018 5'6 Guard (Steelton-Highspire)
Lexi is a strong guard who can do a lot from the wing....  The southpaw loves to drive to the basket and can finish even with a bump or two....  Making a transition to PG is tough but she showed that she has what it takes to get the job done....  Had some nice assist during the Showcase and defended well all morning....

Aliyah Schaffer 2017 5'10 Forward (Mastery Smith in Philly)
Aliyah showed a lot of different parts to her game...  She knocked down a few jumpers set some nice screens and rebounded well all morning....  One of the few players who talked on the defensive end and she showed a great attitude on the court....  She will have a great year for Mastery Smith and I look forward to keeping tracks on her....

Morgan Kennedy 2017 5'11 Forward (West Catholic in Philly)
Kennedy to the hoop
Talk about a monster on the glass, Morgan was that exactly....  She went after everything plus showed the ability to hit the open jumper time and time again....  She has really good strength and great moves on the low block....  Had a few moves that had the crowd screaming, including myself....  Can't wait to see her in action this season if I get the opportunity.
