Team PA 15u and 16u boys perform well in Electric City Madness in Scranton...

With only a few games under their belt, Team PA 15u and 16u are looking to get into a rhythm quickly.... They were able to get some quality competition at The Electric City Madness tourney in Scranton, PA while competing against some really good programs from Northern PA, Philly and Upstate NY...

Team PA 15u won their 1st game vs Philly Edge 68 - 49 as Ian Renninger (Pottsville) scored 22pts and 14 rebs, Casey Caruso (Camp Hill) had 16 and Felix Kortright had 12pts and 9 rebs....

Next game was against CNS Northstar in which it was a close game being tied at half but then Team PA pulled away winning 62 - 48 with Blake Thomson (Cedar Crest) had 21 with 5 threes, Caruso's 18 pts with 4 threes and Ty'heir Butler (Harrisburg) with 13pts, while Ali Anthony finished with 6pts, 9 assist and 7 steals....

The next game was a tough one against Binghamton The Future in which Team PA 15u lost 53 - 43 with Ian Renninger leading with 16pts and Caruso had 10.... Going into the semi Finals Team PA matched up with a tough Syracuse Select team but behind the stellar defense of Bear Ramsey (CD East), Ali Anthony( Harrisburg) and Zach Weigl ( Central Dauphin ) plus the sharp shooting of Thomson and Caruso, Team PA won the game 64 - 48 headed to the Championship game...

They would end up meeting Binghamton The Future again in the finals as Renninger went down with a spained ankle in the 1st half which really hurt Team PA.... BTF ended up winning the game 65 - 61 as Team PA finished with the Silver for a very good weekend... Missing this weekend was Tim Kater (McDevitt)

Team PA 16u didn't go as far as the other but had somewhat similar success as they try to mesh everything together... They started the tournament off with a 74 - 69 loss to Courtland Basketball Club from Upstate NY... This was a really good game as the lead changed roughly 18 times during the game.... Team PA was led by Kyle Everhart (Central Mountain) with 25 points on 7 made threes, Justin Henry (CD East) 18pts, 6 assist, Bryan Karl (Hempfield) 17pts, 8 rebounds....

Next game was against a tough Middletowns Finest squad from Middletown, NY .... These guys had everything a good team needed including good coaching... They jumped out to a 10 - 2 lead on Team PA but the aggressive play of Tyrece Little (Steelton) and Timmy Edwards (Trinity) led a strong comeback to tie the ball game up by halftime.... The 2nd half was a true battle as both teams were able to take the lead time and time again.... With a crucial turnover by Middletowns Finest and a big three point shot by Justin Henry, Team PA was able to take the lead and win the game 52 - 46... Tyrece Little led with 16pts (7-7 free throws), 6 assist, 6 rebs and 5 steals, Justin Henry had 12 pts, 6 assist and 3 steals, Damion Barber (Harrisburg) had 5 pts and 16 rebounds while Timmy Edwards finished with 14pts including a Statue of Liberty dunk while getting fouled in transition....

Next game was against Southern Tier Storm and Team PA jumped on them quickly and never took their foot off the pedal.... Winning the game 86 - 50 getting contribution from everyone there.... Only 7 guys were available and they were led by Timmy Edwards 23 pts, Bryan Karl 14pts and 11 rebs, Javon Mitchell 12pts, 4 steals, Justin Henry 11 pts, 9 assist, 3 steals, Kyle Everhart 14 pts, Tyrece Little 8pts, 7 assist, 7 rebs, 6 steals and Nick Ramsey (CD East) with 4 pts, 10 rebs, 2 steals and 4 assist...

The Semi Final game was against an undefeated Eastside Rochester team who could shoot the ball lights out and had one of the toughest 16u guards I've seen so far.... The young man knew how to use his body to create contact, could handle the ball and had a nice mid range jumper... They ended up beating Team PA 74 - 58 in what was a tied ball game with 6 minutes to go in the game.... Team PA was led by Justin Henry (21pts, 3 steals, 5 assist), Timmy Edwards (14pts), Bryan Karl (11 pts, 11 rebs), Tyrece Little (4pts, 3 steals, 8 rebs) but also some really tough defense by Javon Mitchell and Nick Ramsey.... Missing this weekend was Sean Good and Deshawn Millington and Damion Barber was missing on Sunday due to a Rivals Football Clinic at Rutgers University....

Overall, good weekend for both teams as they gear up for The Pitt Jamfest this weekend.... Hopefully both teams will be fully loaded because they will need a full deck for this event....
