This weeks Predictions for local teams....

The season is finally here and there are some very very good and intriguing matchups....   Some of these matchups could end up being an eventual District Championship game later in the season....   It's early and these teams have a lot of improving to do, but let's take a look at them now....

Harrisburg vs J.P. McCasky -  This game will be played on Saturday at Harrisburg and will be JAMMED PACKED....  These two teams bring back a great deal of experience and the talent on the floor will be like never before....   Harrisburg finally have their football players back (Chris Britton, Dom Lewis, and Daquan Ware) to go along with the other 12 studs they have on roster....  Lancaster is returning 4 of their top 5 from last year including PG Dionte Cherry and High Riser Davon Pinkard.....  They will be a force in District 3 this year and should never be taken lightly....   If Steven Stoney can come to play for Harrisburg, Sophomore Jahaad Proctor hitting outside shots, along with Jerel Patterson running the show, the Cougars may be able to pull this one out.....  this is going to go down to the wire because Cherry and Pickard will be a handful for Harrisburg....   but Harrisburg depth will be an advantage....   The key to this game is Shaquon "Shoop" Sheppard....  If he's focused this year, Harrisburg can go undefeated....   He's a dominate force inside and he can step out to hit the three...  I'm going with Harrisburg by 4pts in Overtime.....

Susquehanna vs Steelton - This is the game that both teams have been waiting for....  This is one of the most highly anticipated games of the season as these two teams battled for 3 quarters in the summer until The Indians opened the 4th quarter and SMACKED Steelton for the championships in the CD League....   Steelton will be led by do it all forward Mark Perry but make no mistake, he has a lot of help with veterans like Anthony Ferguson, Broderick Settles-Simmons plus rising star sophomore Jaki Bowman and pg James "Monk" Warren...   add shooter Rameik Chapman and 6'6 Jaki Haywood plus 6'7 Mikol Jenkins and Steelton looks a little more scary....    The Indians have a nice looking team themselves with Sharp Shooters Johnas Paige and Gabe Mack....  Defensive terror Tahki Turner is a hard matchup with his physical play but now you add in 6'6 Savalas Pope who is a very good big plus Emmanuel Baptist transfer Nehemiah "Bud" Mack who is only a FRESHMAN but may be the top pg in the area REGARDLESS of class....  He is a nice prospect with the size and speed to run the show effectively....   Hanna also has Steelton transfer Jordan Milberry who, from what I hear, placed a garauntee that HIS INDIANS WILL BEAT STEELTON BY DOUBLE DIGITS EASY.......   This will be a good game but I have a feeling that Hanna will pull this one out....   Too much Mack's and Paige....  Hanna by 9 pts....

McDevitt vs Penn Manor - This will be the first outing for the new Run MCD as they have new players and a new game plan for this year.....  This group will run, run, run and fast as they can....  Penn Manor is usually a solid team and Coach Bellow likes to run his system to a T....  McDevitt has speed, wings and biggs this year as they will be led by Super Sophomore Milik Gantz as he can do it all on the floor...  Picking up Susquehanna transfer Justin MacAuthor who can fill up the score board was huge for The Crusaders while guys like Dyllon Hudson-Emery  will hold down the paint...   Just when you though they were done, sharp shooter Donte Vaughn is back from his season ending ACL injury and he's ready to go....   This team will be ready to play and my prediction is MCD by 13pts.....

Trinity vs York Catholic - This is a classic battle as James Dougherty looks to lead the Fighting Irish past the Trinity Shamrocks....   YC lost a lot from their last years team and Trinity has all of their main guys returning...   Not to mention they added Red Land transfer combo guard Dom Antonelli who can flat out play....   Throw him in the backcourt with Brad Wessner, Dylon DeFrank and Jay Agnew plus Josh Trumpy and Brandon Kuntz, you have yourself a squad that can compete for a AA title this year....     I'm taking Trinity by 12....
