GREAT WEEKEND for local AAU TEAMS!!!!

This was a great weekend for basketball if you are a basketball fan...  It showed a lot of people just how talented this area is in basketball...  From 5th grade all the up to 11th grade, we had a number of teams represent well in and out of town....

The Advance Hoops 12U girls team went to Baltimore to play in the Charm City Classics and faced some very good competition....  They were losing the championship game by 6 pts with 1:35 left in the game....  Then they snapped out of it and went on a 10 - 0 run starting with a 3 pointer by Hanna McLucas followed by 3 straight steals and layups by Tiara Little, capped off with a free throw by Lizzy Voight...  Great job to Coach Fortney and the girls...

Advance Hoops 6th grade Charm City Champs

On the 5th grade boys level, we had the Advance Hoops team make it to the finals but fell short by 3 points....  That team has been performing well in every event they've been involved with this aau season.....  Expect to hear great things about that team as time goes on....

On the 12U side of things, Brak Bred  did very well going 5 - 0 and winning the Gold Medals.....   They faced a number of tough teams such as DC Blue Devils (DC Assault younger team), Cecil Slam, and Louden Elite (one of the top in VA) they defeated in the championship game to earn an automatic bid to Nationals....

Shakeel Sheppard, Coach Marc Jones...  Front l to r Quon Butts-Anderson,
Deion "Pacman" Patterson, Donovin Medina, Yahmir Wilkerson, Jaylen Hawthorne

The 13U division was dominated by the local teams as CCC, Capital Elite and Rutherford Elite all made it to the Final 4 with CCC beating Capital Elite in the Finals....  CCC and Capital Elite has the option to go to Nationals if they desire....  Brak Bred 13U played well but had a disappointing loss to PA Western Wildcats....  Some of the standout players in this division were Elyjah Camp, Ahmir Wright, Brian Hall, Evan Chandler, Chris Whitaker, Justin Henry, Nick Ramsey, Destin Brown, Tyrece Little, Jermir Thomas, Austin Gilbertson, Sam Allen, Casey Caruso and Deron Jennings.....   Although other players may have had good moments, these guys played very well consistently....  Great job fellas!!!!

On the 14U level, Team Supernatural played well up until the Semi Finals where they faced a very good Philly Triple Threat team....  They played without do it all forward James Williams who had a monster game to set the tournament off with 28 points and 15 rebs in a 4 overtime win over Mid Penn Motion....

PA Pump n Run 15U wasn't in the area for Super Regional but performed very well in the Philly Keystone Classics...   They ran through the competition to bring home the Gold....  They went up against The Peace Makers from Philly who had a player that was ranked TOP 10 in the country for 15U...  He did the wrong thing by telling that to Coach Proctor as Proctor let Bud Mack loose on the kid...  Mack went on to dominate him...  Pump n Run used an effective full court press that took The Peace Makers out of the game so bad, they stop keeping score with 4 mins to go in the game....

On the 16U level, Central Penn Ballers got busy and brought home the Gold, giving themselves an automatic bid to Nationals by beating Connecticut Select 63 - 44 in the finals...   They had to do it with 6 players being that Anthony Wright (Ankle Sprain) and Donte Vaughn (ACL Tear recovery) weren't able to play....  Great job to the players and coaches on a tremendous job.....

On the 17U level, Central Penn Ballers took home the Gold by beating Connecticut Select by almost 20 points....  This team is made up of mainly Harrisburg HS kids and are playing on a very high level right now....  Khalid and Rell were too tough for the other guards to handle as they dominated from the backcourt....  Chris Britton, Dom Lewis and Shoop Sheppard owned the paint as well....  This team put up 100 + twice as they finished 5 - 0 for the weekend.....  Next up, Albany, NY for the Gym Rats tourney....  Keep up the good work...
