Final day at Adidas Phenom East camp and Harrisburg turned it up.....

The final day of camp had some pretty intense games....   The kids from the area played extremely well......   Here's how most of the players performed at Camp.....

Ahmir Wright

Ahmir Wright was a leader on the floor the entire weekend as he loves to play the game north and south...  He played outstanding full court defense on the pg's and this kid has energy for days....  Once he improves on his jumpshot, teams will be in trouble....

Casey Caruso
Casey Caruso was a flat out shooter this weekend.....  Played on a team that was undefeated until the championships as he hit 4 treys in that game himself...  There's no question he can shoot the basketball but now it's time for Casey to expand his game and be more of a versatile player....

Daron Jennings

Daron Jennings had a great weekend at camp...  Had a number of double doubles as he was extremely active around the basket....  Scored 19pts, 12 rebs and 4 blocks in the championship game....

Donovin Medina
Donovin Medina played his tail off....  He's one of the smartest 5th grade players around and despite his size, he finds ways to get the job done...  Although he played up against 6th - 8th graders, he scored and got assist in every game...

Elyjah Camp

Elyjah Camp was the top playmaker at camp as he got into the lane at will...  He's so silky smooth with the ball and plays the passing lanes like a champ...   He'll have to develop his jump shot if he wants to take his game to another level...

Grey Hess
Grey Hess took his game to another level this weekend....  He rebounded the ball and scored a ton of points...  His last game he had 20 points and 20 rebounds which were both career highs for him...  Grey will have to gain confidence in his ball handling in order to be a big guard in the future...

Harrisburg players represented in style at the Adidas Phenom East camp....

Jabari Tate
Jabari Tate played really smart basketball this weekend...  He made some sweet passes and even had some nice finishes at the basket...  He really knows how to get others involved in the game....   Has to work on his quickness and conditioning before he enters high school this fall because Steelton could use his high IQ as a guard...

James Williams
James Williams from Nativity was a dominant force on the blocks...  James can finish with both hands equally well and can knock down the 15 footer with ease...  Has to develop his ball handling so he can be a big guard in the future....

Jaron Grayer
Jaron Grayer looks like he's ready to play on a high level...  He was a scoring machine this weekend as he went at anyone who was on him...   Hitting treys and attacking the basket with little effort because he makes it look easy...

Jaron Scott
Jaron Scott was a total team player all weekend...  He always looked to get his teammates involved, which is good, but it held him back from showing his true ability....  When he learns to be more of a complete playmaker, his game will rise to another level...

Justin Saunders
Justin Saunders is a fifth grader who competed hard this weekend...  He was able to do a little bit of everything on the court and he shocked some people with his ability to handle the ball the way he did...  He's young so when he develops that drive to want to eat, sleep and drink basketball, he'll be a fun one to watch in the near future....

Kentrell Rucker
Kentrell Rucker had a really good  weekend as he played with a lot of energy, heart and desire...  His jumper was on, he handles the ball with confidence and got his teammates involved...  Was one of the best players there for the weekend...

Roderick "Deuce" Lee
Deuce Lee was extremely active for a 5th grader as he didn't mind getting a little dirty on the floor...  He hit a few treys and moved his feet well on defense...  As he gets used to playing against older kids, he'll adjust to the pace of the game...   Going to be a fine player...
Malik Tate-Defreites
Malik Tate-Defreites came on strong today as he played like the athlete he is...  His defense was aggressive, he finished in transition and played with a lot of energy...  Once he decides to work on his game on the regular, he'll be able to do some wonderful things on the court...  Needs to improve the outside shot as well....

Montrell Morgan
Montrell Morgan had a fantastic weekend....  He scored the ball at will, rebounded well and showed that he was the top middle schooler at the camp...  He knocked down the pull up jumper with ease, had some really nice moves to the basket and maintained his composure even when the games got a little physical...   He'll need to get stronger so he can take the beating night in and night out because New Hope Academy could use him immediately on Varsity next year....

Tamel Little
Tamel Little was probably the biggest surprise at camp...  As a 4th grader, he was forced to compete against the older kids, and that he did...  Tamel not only scored in every game, but he tried to battle for rebounds as well...  Scored 6 points in his last game with some nice jumpers from the wing...  looks like he'll be a fine shooter but needs to work on his ball handling to become a big guard...

Tayvon Bowers
Tayvon Bowers was the man this weekend...  He has a knack for getting to the free throw line as he draws the contact as well as anyone...   averaged a double double for the weekend and has really improved his ball handling....

Tim Kater
Tim Kater was a bag of fun, just look at his picture....  This kid was lights out from three but had some sweet moves to the basket as well...  Played on a team that didn't have enough basketballs for everyone so he did a good job doing other things on the floor as well...  One of the top players for the weekend...

Tito Fleminster
Tito Fleminster impressed me in a big way....  He showed that he is one of the top 7th grade point guards in this area right now...  The kid made excellent decisions, hit the jumper, defended well and led his team to a championship....  Has to be a little more vocal on the court but he's moving in the right direction...

Keyian Bullock
Keyian Bullock is a little guy who can catch you off guard...  One minute you think he's not paying attention, next minute, he's in your shirt...  He played great defense all weekend and even knocked down some shots from the perimeter...  As a 5th grader, he competed hard and people noticed it....

Tyrece Little
Tyrece Little has the kind of game only  a true basketball junky appreciates...  Nothing flashy, just get the job done...  He had a weekend full of tough drives to the basket, offensive rebounding and tough defense....  Played very unselfish which is a good thing as he helped to make others perform better....  Needs to become a more consistent playmaker as he allows others to run the show too many trips down court....

Not Pictured - Alin Jones is a 5th grader who went to work out there...  He's a big kid and once his mind catches up with his size, people are in trouble...  He banged against some big kids and held his own

Ayla Jones played very well being the only female to attend...  She rebounded the ball well and got some nice putbacks...  She's getting better and better....

Willie Davis was a monster on the glass this weekend ad finished almost  everything he touched in the paint....  this had to be a breakout weekend for Davis as he was recognized as one of the top players for the weekend....

Kids taking a lunch break and having a good time....
