GREAT Basketball at the Ms. Kimber Classics in Harrisburg...

If  ever there was a day to see some good high school basketball, today would have been it...  All in one gym the folks in central PA had a chance to see not only some of the top teams in Central PA but also a few in Eastern PA as well....

One on One with Steven Stoney

6'4 Wing Guard Steven Stoney of Harrisburg
As I watch many of the players in the Central PA area, one thing I notice is there's a ton of talented players around....  Some kids can shoot really well....  Some can defend really well....  Some can even motivate their team and get everyone fired up.....   Rarely do you see a kid who can display all of those qualities on a nightly basis until you watch a Harrisburg HS game and see this kid Steven Stoney......

Harrisburg squeezes past Wilson but can they beat York????

Tuesday night at the Giant Center, all of the fans witnessed some interesting things....  The first thing they witnessed was that The York Bearcats are "FOR REAL"......   The 2nd thing they witnessed was The Harrisburg Cougars just might have their hands full....    Not just against York, but as soon as they get to the State tournament as well.....

Harrisburg (2007) vs Prep Charter and THE MORRIS TWINS!!!!

You wanna talk about classic games????   My man Big Star from 2Raw for the Streets pulled a nice one from his archives....  This game was a battle of two of the best teams in the State of PA at that time....  Prep Charter was back to back State Champions for AA and Harrisburg was District 3 champions and went to the Western PA finals in a loss to Schenley which featured Dajuan Blair (San Antonio Spurs) and DJ Kennedy (waived by Grizzlies).....

Harrisburg fights from down 18 to beat Lancater McCaskey

All I can say is "WOW".....  In the first game at Kimber Gymnasium, it's going to be hard to top that one....   Harrisburg coming in ranked #5 in the State vs Lancaster McCaskey ranked #6 in the State, this exceeded the expectations and then some.....

Now, just so everyone understands, I predicted that Harrisburg would win this game in overtime by 4 points...

Harrisburg ended up winning this game 99 - 94 in OVERTIME!!!!

Why won't Mid Penn Teams seek Competition????

I often wonder to myself, why kids in the Harrisburg, PA area often get stuck playing lower level basketball after high school.....   Is it because they just aren't talented?   Or maybe it has something to do with location, kids would rather stay close to home.....    I'm really not sure, but whatever the reason may be, we have to figure out a solution fast.....

Harrisburg may have no sports, how does that affect everyone else?

So it's finally come to the point where the Harrisburg School District is so deep in the hole that they need to cut back on sports and extra curricular activities in the entire district....  REALLY???   ALL SPORTS????

Something they might seem like a small situation, can actually have a snowball effect on the entire area.....  Some situations may be good but some may not be so good as I see it....

Top Seniors in the Mid Penn.....

With the season getting underway, let's take a look at the top seniors from the area....

Devin Thomas (CD) - The Wake Forest signee is well on his way to having another superb season.  Standing at 6'10, he will be a handful for EVERY team in the state.  Made 1st team All State
as a junior and will be considered a player of the year candidate this year.  He could end up becoming a Pro player in the next 3 years if his progress continues.
Mike Zangari (Red Land) - Mike is a 6'9 wing player who can light it up from the outside.
