Harrisburg vs G-Burg and Steelton vs Susquehanna....

It's Finally here....  PLAYOFF BASKETBALL IS HERE....  We're starting off with the Mid Penn championships and from there we have the District playoffs and then on to the "Grandaddy" of them all...  The State Tournament....  Playoff basketball means EVERYTHING....  This is where players and coaches get their true respect....  In playoff basketball, you will either get PROMOTED as a player or EXPOSED!!!!

We have some very interesting matchups in the Mid Penns on one side of the brackets....  but first, Steelton and Milton Hershey has to battle it out to see who get the honors of playing Susquehanna in the first round of the Mid Penn tournament....

This will be the 3rd time these two teams face each other with both teams splitting their series....  They each took care of their home court but this next game is on neutral grounds so who knows what the outcome will be....  Milton Hershey's Ron Adams has been playing like a champ while Jaret Chambers has been a beast on the glass....   Match those two up with super athletic soph Dee'Quan Fleming and always active Mark Perry, you got yourself a great game here....

Steelton may want to win this game so they can play Susquehanna, but I think it's almost better for them to not play in the Mid Penn tourney so they can get more practice time....   Lots of things have been changing within their team and it wouldn't hurt to get everyone on the same page right before Districts....

On the other side of the bracket, you have Harrisburg playing Gettysburg for the first time this year...  This game should be an up and down game but I don't see G-Burg having enough horses to run with The Cougars.....

Everyone is looking forward to a Harrisburg vs Susquehanna matchup as am I....  I think this game will be better than what most people think....  They match up very well with each other, especially in the backcourt...  Actually, Susquehanna may have the advantage in the backcourt with Gabe and Bud Mack running the show...  Those two can handle pressure and that's why this will end up being a good game...  Gabe has a very high IQ and rarely makes mistakes....  Bud has high IQ as well but is really strong for a freshman...  standing at 6'1 and 190lbs already, he has a huge advantage over any guard The Cougars can put on him....  On the flip side, 5'10 sr Jamaal Carter will run the show for Harrisburg as he took over the helm while pg Jerel Patterson was nursing his ankle...  He's back now to help his team but could really use the extra rest....  Soph Jahaad Proctor will be a key player this game...  He will be looked upon to be that outside threat and keep Susquehanna's zone defense honest...  One matchup I would really like to see is Ashton Cooksey - Easter vs Jordan Millberry....   These two guys have speed for days and are both super competitive....  Ashton is a game changer and if he can rattle the Susquehanna guards, this game could get out of control....

Where the Cougars may have an edge is in the paint....  Susquehanna does have Savalas Pope, Jonas Page and Joe Marshall...  Don't get me wrong, those three are one of the toughest trios in the State....  but these Cougars are coming at them with Shoop Sheppard, UCONN's football recruit Chris Britton and Delaware State recruit Steven Stoney....

Then they mix it up with Dom Lewis, Kyle Cook and James Ezel off the bench which gives them a really strong 6 guys in the paint....

Susquehanna will have about 8 guys who will play the majority of the minutes....  If those guys are in shape, they may pull this game out....  If not, it could get ugly by the 2nd half....

I think that if Harrisburg play man to man on Susquehanna, it will play in favor of Susquehanna.....  Bud Mack has the ability to blow by defenders and create plays...  Sometimes he's too busy shooting jumpers on a zone, he's not using his full potential....  This kid is built like a brick house and is much stronger than most of his opponents....

Although Susquehanna has a better record at this point, Harrisburg will be a little too deep....  I expect this to be a great game with Harrisburg winning in overtime....  Once again, the Mid Penn will send some officials that won't let these two teams play and both teams will live at the free throw line all game....  Don't be shocked if there are 50+ attempts between the two teams....

But first, let's see if both teams make it there.........
