Emmanuel Baptist kicks off the season with a great effort....

Although the basketball season just started for most of the local schools, Emmanuel Baptist Christian Academy (EBCA) is gearing up and rolling along......

They started the season off with the JV boys team playing against Cumberland Valley Christian School and EBCA won that game big...  50 - 10....   You saw it right, I said 50 - 10!  EBCA showed great sportsmanship by holding the ball out, running their offense and also letting more of the bench guys play in the 2nd half...  They were led by the duo of 6th grader Casey Caruso who talleyed 20 pts, 4 steals and 4 assist while 7th grader Tyrece Little poured in 16 pts, 13 rebs, 4 steals and 2 blocks.

The Varsity game was a slightly different outcome as CVCS edged EBCA 56 - 42.  CVCS was led by Josh Sanders 21 points and Tanner Propst 14 points.  EBCA were led by junior Tim Kile who poured in 20 points while 8th grade phenom Nehemiah "Bud" Mack scored 16 pts and snagged 12 rebounds.  7th grader Tyrece Little (4 rebs, 2 blocks, 1 steal) gave some quality minutes as he defended and rebounded the ball well while Freshman Jansen Morrison was very active around the glass.

It was a 5 point game entering the 4th quarter but big plays by Propst and Sanders sealed the win...

  1. They were awesome first games to watch, and learning experiences for a young team. Our girls need to put there heads down and drive a little more, take charge!

  2. The girls had a difficult time handling the ball as well. Tiara could have helped a lot yesteday.

  3. I think Tiara would've made a HUGE difference.
