HS BBALL SEASON IS FINALLY HERE......

Seems like it took forever to begin but now it's here....  HS basketball should be better than ever in the Mid State and early on there seems to be some very intriguing match ups....  Let's take a look at how the weekend is looking for some of the teams in Central PA....

Last-second shot hands Florida State 62-60 win over NU

Scott Eatherton Slams it HOME....

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Northeastern led Florida State for nearly 35 minutes on Sunday night at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, but a last-second fade-away jumper by Devon Bookert delivered the Seminoles a 62-60 victory and handed heartbreak to the Huskies.

NU's Scott Eatherton (Hershey, Pa.) was named to the all-tournament team after recording a double-double for the third straight game, finishing with 21 points and 15 rebounds, both game highs. He was the only player in the tournament to record a double-double in all three games, averaging 18.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per game for the weekend. He is just the ninth player in the history of the tournament to average a double-double.

I normally don't cover any kids out of the Central PA area but this young man plays for a good friend of mine in North Carolina....   Damon Harge is one of the hardest working kids I've seen and he has a very high ceiling due to his work ethic and dedication....

If  ever there was a day to see some good high school basketball, today would have been it...  All in one gym the folks in central PA had a chance to see not only some of the top teams in Central PA but also a few in Eastern PA as well....

THOROFARE, N.J. – Seventeen of the 25 players that were my choices as the best in the 2013 version of the Pangos All-East Frosh/Soph Camp reside in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

And, with 11 of those players residents of Philadelphia or reasonably near-by communities, it only figured that a Philly lad sparkle brighter than anyone in the Top 30 Cream of the Crop Game that wrapped of things in the two-day event Sunday afternoon.

Central PA kids performed well at Pangos East All Freshman/Soph camp....

First off I have to start off by reminding everyone that I have attended A LOT of events over the past 3 years and seen A LOT of talented players....  I must admit, other than The Buckeye Prep Showcase in Columbus, OH, this event had the most talented Freshmen and Sophomores that I've seen....   There were players from all up and down the East Coast because they felt like they needed to be there to match up against other projected HIGH MAJOR players.... 

Pangos Fab Freshman/Super Soph camp is on the East Coast this week...

Pangos All American Camp is widely known as one of the TOP Exposure camps in the country....  This weekend Central PA will be represented and ready to compete against some of the TOP PLAYERS on the EAST COAST.....

This past weekend some of the top middle school players in PA and NJ got together to compete at the HoopRootz Basketball Showcase in Philly....  Their was some great young talent in the gym and a lot of these names we will hear about in the very near future....

Philly Schools are stacking up, can Central PA keep up?

So there was this big fuss about Lebron James and " The Decision " as he took his talents to South Beach....  Well, after all of the craziness died down, all he did was get a few titles and lots of extra cash on top of that....    So where am I going with this you might ask????

Hoop Group Philly Top 100 tour October 12th....

The Hoop Group, one of the most prestigious names in Basketball,  will be hosting a Top 100 tour (Philly) on Saturday October 12th in King of Prussia at Competitive Edge Sports... This event is for grades 5th - 9th from 9am - 1pm....   If there's any interest, contact Coach Little for group pricing at coachlittle22@gmail.com ....    This camp has helped to develop some of the well known rising young stars in Central PA such as Devon Moore (Delone Catholic), Jahaad Proctor (Harrisburg 3rd team All State as a soph), Milik Gantz (McDevitt), Bud Mack (Susquehanna HS), Drew Shankweiler (Mechanicsburg, earned his stripes by going at All American Rondae Jefferson) and many more....

Sensational last day of the College Showcase as stars shine....

Last day of he showcase and these guys were HUNGRY...  Did a fantastic job looking for each other and playing unselfishly...  This was a GREAT event put together by Charlie Fortney and his staff and it was all for the kids in the area...  There were as many as 25 College Coaches in the gym at one time and some of these kids will be leaving with an opportunity to play on the next level...  Here's a look at some of the top players for the day...
