Predictions for Tuesday games 1/02/13

Here's a look at the matchups for today......

McDevitt @ Trinity -  This game has a lot more meaning to it than what most people think....   Trinity is looking to erase the "OVERRATED" perception while McDevitt is really looking to get on track and "Find Their Identity".....   Trinity looks really good on paper and their guard play has been stellar, their problem has been consistent play from all of the big guys...  McDevitt has moved on since the loss of pg Daequan Phillips who is indefinitely suspended from the team for undisclosed reasons, but who will be the leader to run this team....  One option is jr combo guard Donte Vaughn who showed that he can knock down the outside shots, but can he lead this team to a much needed victory is the question!!!  Rock solid guard Justin MacAthur will match up with Bred Wessner as these two are a couple of the strongest guards in the Mid Penn....  An interesting matchup to me will be Will Pierce and Josh Trumpy....  While Trumpy may be a high riser, Pierce is a rough and tough player who plays with a lot of pride....   Despite McDevitt's record, this game could be a toss up....   They are playing at Trinity which is always dangerous....  Trinity by 6 points in a tough game...   The guard play will ultimately determine the outcome...

Cedar Cliff @ Mechanicsburg - This may end up being one of the best games of the night as these two teams match up farely well.....   Soph guard Tyler Hoagland has been playing extremely well for the Colts...  not to mention 6'4 Freshman Derrick Ford has been a steady guy inside to give them the presence on the block that they need....   Mechanicsburg is led by top PF in the 2014 class Zach Brunner....  He plays extremely hard all game and very rarely gets a break....  Tough game but ultimately I see Mechanicsburg pulling it out by 3 points in overtime....

Gettysburg @ Susquehanna - Gettysburg is coming into Indian Territory with a 9 - 1 record...  These guys can play some ball being led by Cody Keifer and Ben Kroll....  Keifer is tough as nails around the basket but can step out and shoot the long ball as well...  Kroll is a strong guard who can knock down the trey but also can get to the line effectively....  Susquehanna will have a wave of players to throw at them but will it be the right combination is the question....  Jonas Page has been playing like an All State player and Joe Marshall is a monster around the basket....  If the Mack boys can handle Kroll and then Defensive specialist Takhi Turner on Keifer, I can see Susquehanna running away with game....   It would be nice to see Savalas Pope play the way his potential shows because he has the ability to dominate the paint...  Indians win by 13 points....

Middletown @ Greencastle - This game may be over in the first half as I think Greencastle will be too much for M-Town....  The bright spot for M-Town has been the outstanding play of Trent Zimmerman....  Expect Greencastle to key on him all game, which means trouble for M-Town....  Greencastle has some tough players in Joel Zola and Zach Faulkner...   Zola has showed he is one of the top guards in the Mid Penn and Coach Gary Martin will have these guys ready from the jump....    Greencastle by 17 points....

Red Land @ Hershey - Well, somebody has to win this game....   unfortunately for Red Land, it may not be them....   This is a very young and inexperienced team and even though Hershey's roster is much depleted from previous years, they still have enough to get past Red Land....   Red Land will play hard with freshman Morgan Keiser leading the way, but I see Hershey winning by 14 points.....
