It's a great time to be a kid right now.... Especially if you're a basketball junkie like myself..... While the HS kids are out of town in Baltimore and Pittsburgh, some of the areas best middle school guys will be at Kutztown University at the AFBE Kutztown tournament.....
In the 13U division, we have Brak Bred (6th graders), Rutherford Elite, Advanced Hoops-Maulfair and Advanced Hoops - Willis. The 14U division will be represented by Brak Bred (7th graders)...
Some of the players on the Advance Hoops teams are Aiden Fleming and Timmy Edwards... Those two guys have been playing for years and should be ready to go...
Brak Bred's 6th grade team is actually playing up a grade level.... They're looking forward to playing tougher competition, regardless of the outcome... Some of the guys on that team are Jaylen Hawthorne, Deion "Pacman" Patterson, Shaquon Butts-Anderson, Shaquan Benton, Julian Jackson, Yahmir Wilkerson, Shakeel Sheppard, Willie Davis and Brian Garner.....
Brak Bred's 7th grade team will also be playing up a grade level.... Great move for this group as they look to prepare for freshman ball or even Varsity ball if they're at a Private School... Players on that team include Tyrece Little, Austin Gilbertson, Jimir "Moody" Thomas, Grey Hess, Chris Henderson, Steven Thompson, and Kentrell Rucker.... Tyrece Little is nursing a sprained calf so he's listed as day to day....
The Rutherford Elite team will have a good nucleus of their players back including Christopher Whitaker, Nick Ramsey, Evan Chandler, Justin Henry and Jordan Gillis.... They will be a tough team to beat as these guys are battle tested....
