Central PA Class of 2017 is looking SHARP as ever....

It's always a pleasure to watch HS basketball....  Especially watching the kids who play team ball the right way and try to do the right things in the name of  "Team First" ....   Normally the upper class men are the guys who lead by example and vocally show how the teams system is to be ran....
But every so often, we get a few FRESHMEN who grow up just a little faster than what's expected...  Well, just like in other areas around the country, Central PA has some "HIDDEN GEMS" ....  There's kids that can compete at a high level in HS varsity games but the best is yet to come for these kids....  Check out a few of these kids around the mid State.....

Deshawn Millington (6'1 shooting guard from Carlisle HS) - This kid can flat out score the ball...  It's that simple...  He has really good court awareness and understands how to finish at the basket...  Has a nice mid range game and doesn't play with the ball at all....  Very athletic and next year I can see this kid finishing above the rim through traffic...  Going to be a really nice prospect if he continues to develop....  Averaging about 13ppg so far this season...

Lonnie Walker (6'4 combo guard from Reading HS) -  Very high IQ for one so young...  Walker can score the ball with the best of them but is very efficient with the ball....  Although he can do a lot of things with the ball, he doesn't try to do too much...  In due time, he will be asked to do more and he will deliver...  Already ranked in the top 40 by most scouting services and being looked at by numerous Division 1 programs.....   Averaging about 10ppg with 6rebs so far this season....

Tyrece Little (6'0 combo guard from New Hope HS) - Wasn't really expected to play many minutes on Varsity but found a way to stay on the court on one of the top Single A teams in the State...  Little has been very consistent scoring the ball, rebounding and defending...   Shooting 50% from three point range, 67% from the field and 100%(6-6) from the charity stripes....  Already getting looks from a few Division 1 programs, he has to keep up the consistency...  Averaging about 7ppg and 6.5rebs so far this season....

Eli Brooks (5'10 combo guard from Spring Grove HS) -  This kid can score the rock...  Flat out...  Brooks has a knack for finding the gaps and attacking...  He can also stick the jumper if left open....   Leading his team right now with a scoring average close to 13ppg and the best is yet to come....

Jalen Gibbidon (6'3 combo guard from Harrisburg Academy) - This young man is a proven scorer...  The crazy part is he's really a late bloomer in this game...   Gibbidon may not play in the toughest conference, but no one can dis credit his 23ppg scoring average....  His anticipation on defense is outstanding and the kid can shoot it from anywhere on the court...   Watch out and remember his name....

DeAireus Brown (6'1 wing man from Northeastern) - This high riser kid can do more than just jump, he takes his guys off the dribble and can hit the pull up jumper....  An outstanding athlete, Brown has what it takes to be a special one....  Averaging about 8ppg and 7rebs, this makes him a guy to pay attention to on the floor....

Christopher Whitaker (6'1 combo guard from Harrisburg) - Every so often, Harrisburg will get a special player who is ready to contribute as a freshman...  Well, they got one this year in Whitaker...  Started out on the JV team but eventually showed that the varsity could use his aggressive scoring nature and physical play on defense...  Averaging about 4ppg but scores in big moments....  Whitaker will be a guy to help the Cougars as they get closer to the playoffs...

Justin Henry (5'6 pg from CD East) - Points aren't what defines this young man because he does a lot of things so well on the court...  He is very poised with the basketball and doesn't turn the ball over much...  Averaging about 4ppg but distributes the ball well averaging 5.8 assist as well....

Taylor Funk (6'5 wing forward from Manheim Central) - Mr. Do It All, this kid can do a lot of things on the court....   Funk is a coaches player and just knows how to get the job done...  He can shoot the rock or post a player up with ease....   Definitely one of the most skilled players around PA regardless of age...

Jacques Casiano (5'10 guard for York HS) - Tough nosed guard from the city of York....  Loves to attack the basket and does it with power....  Just a role player for now but has the ability to score in bunches...  Once he picks it up on defense so it can match his offensive ability, he is going to be a serious problem...
