Local Players show their stuff at The College Exposure Showcase at Milton Hershey

All I can say is finally....  The Central PA area has been long overdue with having an event showcasing all of the top players in the District 3 area...  This was an event put together by Owner of Advanced Hoops Charlie Fortney as he was able to organize over 60 athletes and 25 College Coaches to meet all in one spot....   Make no mistake, Charlie may have organized the event, but it took the help of Coaches like Charles "Coach Ab" Vaughn, Tigh Savorcool, Mike Pilsitz, Joe Proctor, Roger Smith and a few others to make this a huge success.....
The showcase had athletes from all over Central PA...  Cities like Harrisburg, York, Reading, Carlisle and Lancaster were represented and tons of kids did just that.....  REPRESENT!!!!!!!!

As I moved around to check out the talent and speak with Coaches, there were a good number of players that really caught my eye......   Here's a small breakdown from my perspective.....

Lucas Jewel (Elizabethtown) class of 2013 - I had never seen this kid before but the 5'11 pg was really slick with the basketball....  He was able to break the defense down plus create his own shot at will....  Lots of schools had their eye on him and rightfully so.....

Savalas Pope (Susquehanna) class of 2014 - Standing at 6'7 and 260lbs, this kid was an animal....   All he did was use his strength to create space then finish, finish, finish.....   Pope had at least 5 dunks for the night as he is now playing above the rim....   Even knocked down the 15 footer a few times, SCARY!!!!!!

Siele Johnson (CD East) class of 2013 - I can recall his last varsity game of the year when he scored 36pts on #3 ranked Harrisburg....  Well, this kid hasn't slowed down yet as he got bucket after bucket at this event....  His ability to get to the rim and finish with either hand was incredible....  He defenitely stood out and most would agree...

Jamaal Carter (Harrisburg) class of 2013 - This little firebug was all over the court on defense and diving for loose balls as if it was a State Playoff game....  He did a great job directing his team and creating shots for others.....

Miko Jenkins (Steelton) class of 2014 - The slender 6'7 Jenkins is still raw but his effort  is outstanding...  He was able to block shots and keep them in play time after time...  Once he develops a few post moves, he will be ready for the next level....

Joe Marshall (Susquehanna) class of 2015   - Joe is a long and lengthy player who was al over the glass....  did a nice job hitting the 15 footer and went strong in the paint...

Travaun Coad (Wilson) class of 2014 - Talk about a freak athlete....  This kid can get anywhere he want on the court...  The southpaw was able to dominate at times, on both ends of the floor....  I really like his potential and if I were a Division 1 school, I would take a look at him now....

Jacqueze McBridge (Red Land) class of 2014 - Jacqueze showed the ability to handle the ball, knock down shots, plus attack the basket strong....  Had a nice dunk in one game and shocked the entire gym....  His game is getting better and better....

Jerel Patterson (Harrisburg) class of 2013 -  Jerel is a crafty ball handler and does it with little effort...   He was able to attack the basket and create for others plus himself....  Still unsigned!!!!!

Kareem Oden (Emmanuel Baptist) class of 2014 - Oden is a 5'9 bulldog of a guard....  He was able to overpower guards and get into the paint at will...  Showed a few nice counter moves and used the pull up jumper when needed....  Keep a close eye on him....

Justin MacArthur (McDevitt) class of 2014 - Justin has been improving everytime I see him...  He is extremely strong and loves to use his body on his opponent.....  The fact that he can hit shots makes him a very dangerous threat from all over the court....

Jerel Carter (Haggerstown CC) JUCO - Carter came out to PA to show his stuff...  He was a very versitile player at 6'3...  He could defend, shoot and slash, but the best part about his game was his passing ability....  He can really see the floor well...  He'll be done with school this August and I believe a University should pick him up immediately....

Gabe Mack (Susquehanna) class of 2014 - Mack is as steady as they come...  He very rarely tries to do things he can't do...  He's really good at playing the pick and role game and was hitting shots from the outside all night....

Jahaad Proctor (Harrisburg) class of 2015 - Proctor is an assasain on the perimeter...  He shoots the ball so accurately and it looks good everytime it leaves his hands...  He handled the ball well and his court vision was much improved...  There's a reason he made the All State team this year as a sophomore.....

Milik Gantz (McDevitt) class of 2015 - Gantz is just fun to play with...  He is probably the most unselfish player in the area....  Standing at 6'4, he's a pg with incredible skills....  What I liked the most is Gantz was hitting the jumper now...  That alone will boost his stock ten folds....

Aaron Gress (CD) class of 2015 - Gress looked good, actually, Gress looked REAL good...  He showed strong ball handles, defense and can shoot the ball well...  He's not done growing yet and once he believes he can play with anyone in the area, his game will go to another level....

Nehemiah "Bud" Mack (Susquehanna) class of 2016 -  Bud has the potential to be the bast Freshman in PA if he wanted to be...  He is extremely talented but his motor isn't always on....  When he turns it up, he can take over a game on both ends...  He did a great job handling his team and he's a very good playmaker for one so young....

Dejour Williams (Harrisburg) class of 2015 - Like I stated in a tweet ( @coachlittle22 ), Williams stock is rising rapidly....  He pushed the ball at every opportunity he had and he found the open guys almost everytime...  By being a pass first guard, he was able to open the lanes up so he can get to the basket as well....  He does everything a pg is suppossed to do...

Jahaire Wilson (York) class of 2015 - Standing at 6'4 this kid can rise....  He played above the rim all night and had a few nice dunks...  Many in the gym didn't know who this soph was but they do now....  He even stepped out to shoot the three ball....  Expect big things from Wilson next season....

Donte Vaughn (McDevitt) class of 2014 - Vaughn was knocking down shots and very rarely made mistakes...  He played with a high IQ plus was strong on defense.....  Seems to be really getting his movement back from his injury last year...

Zhykeir Burdine (Reading) class of 2014 - I love this kids game...  He has deep range on his jumper and a nice size so he can take the contact...  He was one of the best guards there and will be one of the top guards in the State next season...  Comes from a bloodline of ballers too....

Dwight Whitlock (CD EAST) class of 2015 - This kid is growing heavily and his game is looking really good...  Buddy had a couple of high flying dunks and he banged all on the glass all night...  He's hitting shots and handling the ball better too....  Looking good!!!

Drew Schankweiler (Mechanicsburg) class of 2014 - Standing at 6'6, I don't think he's done growing....  This kid was hitting shots and showed some nice post moves as well...  He was a problem for most guys who tried to defend him....

There will be a link that will show each of the games that were played on the main court as well....     Some very good footage from this event....
