Top players from the Centralpabball.com Girls College Showcase

What a great event Monday night as over 45 of the top girl players in Central PA took the court.  Over 30 Colleges were in attendance and over 70
spectators watching as these young ladies did not disappoint anyone.  Let's take a look at some of the standout players from Monday night....

Ariel Jones (5'7 lead guard 2017 Cedar Crest) - The super quick and athletic guard got anywhere she wanted on the court.  Her timing in the passing lanes where incredible as she got steal offer steal. Did a great job finishing in traffic as well.

Dejah Terrell  (6'1 Forward 2018 Berks Catholic) - Was all over the court as she made an impact on both ends.  Very quick and agile, Terrell was able to bother a lot of shots with her length.  A monster on the glass and finished plays all night.  No wonder Rider has an offer on the table.

Sunshine McCrae  (6'1 Forward 2019 East Pennsboro)- This youngster made a tremendous impact on the floor and showed that she can do more than just post up.  Defended very well, even on the perimeter and pushed the ball to start fastbreaks herself.  Made smart passes and finished well in traffic. Very bright future and schools better pay attention to her sooner than later.

Elizabeth Voight (5'8 Guard 2018 Northern Lebanon)- Better known as Liz, she shot the heck out of the ball.  Coming off of a screen, Voight is deadly from 3.  She is a great slasher and plays with a high IQ.

Zakiyah Winfield  (5'6 lead guard 2018 Wilson)- Showed the ability to run a team and defend on a high level.  On one occasion, Winfield chased down a gastbreak and block a shot into the wall.  That showed her sneaky athleticism.  She attacked the basket and made nice passes all night as well.

Tehya Hosey  (5'4 guard 2018 Cedar Cliff)- Hosey was a tough little guard who always found a way to be around the ball.  Her on the ball defense was tough and she did well finishing in transition.  As her outside shot becomes more consistent, she will be a terror to defend.

Sam Gress (5'9 combo guard 2019 Central Dauphin)- Gress showed a lot of maturity for one so young.  She ran her team and hot shots all night.  She has such a high IQ for one so young and the best is yet to come.

Kiki Jefferson  (6'1 Wing Guard 2019 Lancaster Catholic)- Definitely the top prospect in the building as Jefferson did whatever she wanted on the court.  She handled the ball, dished, posted up or hit the outside jumper.  She's a match up nightmare for her opponents as she showed everyone in the building why Villanova and Penn State are so quick to offer her a scholarship.

Tiara Little (5'7 lead guard 2018 CD East)- Showed up to the showcase a little late coming from a Volleyball game but made her presence known immediately.  Little was great at playing passing lanes and also attacking from the wing.  Her ability to make plays for others really stood out as she helped other players score easily.  If she keeps it up, these D1 interest could turn into offers.

Ahmya Woodyard  (5'6 lead guard 2018 Harrisburg HS)- She's a crafty lead guard who just know how to find people.  Her court vision was mind blowing and she showed a sweet floater in the paint.  She's going to be one of the better guards in the area for sure this year and showed everyone last night who she is.

Dejahnae Brannon  (5'11 forward 2019 Harrisburg HS)- Known as Nan Mae, Brannon has great hands and a soft touch around the basket.  She really gets out in transition and finishes with either hand.  She's a strong rebounder who can use her body to clear space.  Nice prospect.

Kira Merritt (5'3 guard 2017 Harrisburg HS)- Merritt was a surprise because she just focused on doing the right things and not too much.  If anyone brought the ball near her, she found a way to get her hands on it.  Scored a few times with some nice drives to the basket but rarely forced it.  Going to be a nice player for the Cougars.
