Zach Brunner of Mechanicsburg makes a name at Hoop Group Top 100 Tour

Philly Fall Top 100 Standout Performers

Philly Top 100
The second-to-last stop on Hoop Group’s 2012 Fall Top 100 Tour featured one of the deepest and most talented collection of players of the season.
From high Division I commits to a solid core of underclassmen, the top high school basketball players from the northeast descended on King of Prussia, Pa. for a day filled with station drills, sweatshops, games and recruiting seminars for both players and parents.......

Zach Brunner | Mechanicsburg HS, Pa. | 6-4 F | Class of 2014
Flashes of real ability in both ends of the court. The junior was also strong going to the hole and able to finish with several nice floaters.

Pierson Burton | Pennsbury HS, Pa. | 6-2 G | Class of 2014
Solid and smooth, Burton can score and also be a strong playmaker for his teammates thanks to his handle and his movements both with and without the ball.

Karl Charles | Rutgers Prep, N.J. | 6-3 G/F | Class of 2015
Capping his strong summer, he captured MVP honors at The Hoop Group’s Future All-American Camp at Albright College this summer, with another solid performance at a Top 100 event, Chalres is definitely a strong combo guard/forward who is a sleeper people should pay attention to.

Devante Cross | Parkland HS, Pa. | 6-0 G | Class of 2016
Quick with the ball and already a savvy playmaker as a freshman, Cross should be very entertaining for Lehigh Valley high school basketball fans to watch over the next four years.

Vaughn Dweck | Walter Panas HS, N.Y. | 6-4 G | Class of 2013
The wiry lefty scorer from New York was described as a potential small college prospect by several scouts at the event.
Marcus Floyd | Moyer Academy, De. | 5-9 G | Class of 2015
Like Charles, Floyd also starred at The Hoop Group’s Future All-American Camp and on this day the talented sophomore again impressed those in attendance. An Aggressive point guard who gives maximum effort on both ends of the floor Floyd also possesses a strong mid-range jumper.

Austin Harriot | Boys Latin CS, Pa. | 6-1 G | Class of 2015
Described as a raw player with a lot of upside, Harriot rebounded well all day and was one of the strongest sophomore’s at the event.

Malachi Howard | Pocono Mountain West HS, Pa. | 5-9 G | Class of 2014
the junior guard from Monroe County, Pa. played well against more “experienced” players and held his own on both ends of the floor. In addition to his play Howard’s build, which was described by one scout as “a good basketball body with broad shoulders,” helped open eyes as to the potential of this talented guard.

Rondae Jefferson | Chester HS, Pa. | 6-7 F | Class of 2013
Rated by many as the top player in Pennsylvania’s Class of 2013, the future Arizona Wildcat (Jefferson committed in late September), showed why he will be starring in Division I over the next few years. His strentghs, in addition to the effort he gives on every inch of the floor, seem to be his ability to drive and finish a play himself or distribute the ball and make the players around him better. His basketball IQ is off the charts and he seems to be working on that perimeter jumper which evaluators thought was an area he needed to strengthen in his game.

Taquan Johnson | West Catholic HS, Pa. | 6-3 G/F | Class of 2015
The West Catholic sophomore handles the ball well for his size and has a shot that matches his rebounding skills. One to definitely keep an eye on this coming season.

Matthew Klinewski | Eastern Regional HS, N.J. | 6-7 F | Class of 2014
The Voorhees, N.J. product can shoot and was able to convert some tough finishes in the paint. He has great hands and one scout said “he catches everything and he has a high basketball IQ.” When told that Klinewski was garnering some interest from Sienna, the same scout compared his game to that of former Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference player of the year Ryan Rossiter.

Marco Kozul | Archbishop Molloy, N.Y. | 6-5 F | Class of 2013
Kozul was one of several players to take advantage of the opportunity to come and showcase his skills at this event. A workmanlike player who rebounds well and plays strong defense he is clearly a Division III prospect who could play his way up to D-II or low D-I.

Rodney Miller | St. Benedict’s, N.J. | 6-9 F | Class of 2016
The star freshman of the event, Miller matched up against Rondae Jefferson and several times was able to block the shots of Pennsylvania’s top-rated senior. In addition to his shot blocking, Miller can pass shoot and finish and has the complete skill set to develop into a special player. If Division I school’s don’t start watching this kid soon they may miss out in four short years.

Antonio Moore | Pottstown HS, Pa. | 6-7 F | Class of 2013
Moore was a talented presence in the paint on both the defensive and offensive ends of the floor and thanks to his athletic ability is a clear scholarship level player.

Nate Pierre-Louis | Good Shepard Academy, N.J. | 5-11 G | Class of 2017
While Rodney Miller was the most-talked about underclassmen eighth grader Pierre-Louis may find himself in that very same position next year. Scouts loved how the young man already seems to posses a natural feel for the game and while skills and techniques still need to be worked on to solidify his game there seemed to be no denying the bright future Pierre-Loui has.

Gjamier Stafford | Howard HS, Md. | 6-0 G | Class of 2013
Trying to garner more collegiate notice, Stafford only helped his cause with his performance in King of Prussia. A technically sound shooter Stafford easily dropped mid- to long-range jumpers. He also worked hard on defense and has the ability to always force turnovers and make steals.

Lamar Stevens | Abington Friends, Pa. | 6-6 F | Class of 2016
Already possessing a college-ready frame the freshman forward can score, pass and compete with upperclassmen easily. If he continues to progress Stevens should develop into a Division I or II talent.

Mohammed Sulemana | McDonough HS, Md. | 6-2 G | Class of 2015
A strong and physical player with a great upside, the young scorer is able to match a serviceable jump shot with the ability to get in the lane and make things happen.

Jacob Walsh | Sanford HS, De. | 6-3 G/F | Class of 2016
An unselfish player, Walsh shoots really well and also knows when to make the extra pass to an open teammate. he can handle the ball well and if he gets stronger the freshman should easily develop into a scholarship player.

Derrick Woods | Trenton Catholic, N.J. | 6-5 F | Class of 2015
Listed at 6-5 but may actually be 6-7, the Trenton Catholic sophomore has a good basketball body and is very athletic on the court. Worth a look over the next few years to see how he develops.
